Aviation Information System

The operating status of the nation's largest airports is now brought directly to your wireless device, pager, phone, PDA or e-mail client in real-time, as it happens.

This new service uses e-mail to send you timely delay information.  To subscribe to this service, you must have a valid e-mail account.

If you are a new user, you will need to register to create an Aviation Information System (AIS) account.  This account will allow you to manage your AIS preferences: you can select the airports about which you wish to receive information, the message length that your wireless device or e-mail client can tolerate, etc.  To create an account, provide us with your e-mail address and create a new password. Do not provide us with your e-mail account's password; create a new password.  You should never give out your personal passwords to online entities.  When you register, we will send a confirmation number to the e-mail address you provide.  You must enter your confirmation number before you can set your preferences or receive delay notifications.  Once you have registered, you can go directly to the login page.  In the future, should you wish to cancel your subscription to the service, click on the unsubscribe button and follow the prompts.  We have also provided pages where you can have us resend your confirmation number or resend your password in case you have misplaced them.

The timeliness with which you receive delay messages depends on how promptly your e-mail service provider sends e-mail to you.  If your e-mail service provider batches e-mail or is slow in sending e-mail, this will have an effect on how quickly you get delay notifications.

Be forewarned: If you choose to receive messages for all airports, you will receive a lot of messages.  It is probably best if you only subscribe to a few airports that are of interest to you.  If you are planning a trip, then set your preferences to the airports that you will be using for the trip.  You could do this before each trip.  This will provide you with the information you need without overwhelming you with messages.
